Sit In ATV Operator Course
Our RoSPA accredited Sit-In ATV training course sets the industry standard for certificating professional drivers of side by side utility terrain vehicles (UTV) such as the Polaris Ranger, Kawasaki Mule, John Deere Gator and the Kubota RTV among others. We also provide a Quad Bike Training course.
As expected from a RoSPA accredited course designed around HSE guidance, our training has been recognised as being of the highest quality by local and national government, the construction and engineering industries, agriculture, estate management, the emergency services and the military. We do understand that some organisations require specific training courses and assessments to be undertaken, and as such we can provide the Lantra Awards Sit-In ATV training, and can tailor courses in preparation for City and Guilds (NPTC) assessments.
Delivery
Training is delivered face-to-face by our fully RoSPA certified instructors. Training takes place on your premises using company vehicles and is a mixture of driving theory understanding and practical application.
Aimed At
Aimed at operators that wish to understand the machine, it’s capabilities and limitations. Training up to 3 operators per day, the RoSPA certification is by far the most cost efficient option for organisations.
What's Covered
- Develop an understanding of 4×4 and All Wheel Drive (AWD) transmission systems
- How to operate these vehicles on the move
- Vehicle checks including suitability of tyres and optional equipment
- ABS, Traction Control, and intelligent systems which provide response to differing terrain
- Stability programmes (such as DSC/ASC/ESC/ESP)
- On-road driver assessment, aimed at driving in adverse conditions
- Introduction to basic off-road driving on established tracks and safe inclines
- How their machines react to a loss of grip under acceleration
- Braking and cornering on low traction surfaces
- How to reduce overall risks and improve vehicle control
